Chris Darby is the founder and owner of The Gurkha Company. For 22-years he served in the British Army’s Brigade of Gurkhas and commanded at Platoon, Company & Battle Group level in Europe and America, Africa and the Middle East and in Central and South East Asia.

He left the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel with a Masters’ Degree, a passion for the English countryside and an enduring respect for the men from Nepal with whom he served.

Our Chefs are all serving or ex-members of Britain’s Brigade of Gurkhas and have been trained to the highest professional standards. Their understanding of our recipes is encyclopaedic and the dishes they craft are unique.
